Lira loved swimming through the ocean’s hidden places. She saw glowing jellyfish that lit up like tiny stars and swam past underwater mountains called seamounts. But exploring the deep sea is hard. It’s super dark, and the water pushes down so hard it can crush things! That’s why humans use special submarines to study it.
Lira had a secret. She found a shiny crystal ball in a deep, dark trench. When she touched it, she saw pictures in her mind: underwater cities made of coral, mermaids and humans being friends, and a giant wave long ago. Was it real? She didn’t know, but she hid the crystal in a cave.
One night, Lira swam to the surface. The moon was bright, and she saw a human boat. Humans were so interesting! They built boats to sail the sea but didn’t know about the weird creatures below, like the anglerfish with its glowing light or the giant squid with huge eyes.
During a big storm, Lira saw a boy fall off a boat. Splash! He sank into the water. Lira zoomed down and saved him, bringing him to a safe beach. His name was Sam, and his eyes were wide. “Wow, you’re a mermaid!” he said.
